The Hellenic Anatomical Society foundation in 1980 and its revival in 2020

Dear colleagues and friends

The Hellenic Anatomical Society (HAS) was established in 1980 and had 25 members.

In May 1987, the HAS organized an International Congress, the 69th Congress of Association of Anatomists in Porto Carras Hotel at the city of Chalkidiki, nearby Thessaloniki. The Society activity was ceased in the year 2000. Twenty (20) years later, after the ambitious efforts of the Director of the Department of Anatomy and Surgical Anatomy of the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, professor Konstantinos Natsis, the Society was revived on the 1st July 2020. This revival took place under the general assembly of past members of the Society, as well as of new registered members. During that general assembly, elections were held for the composition of the HAS Board.

During the time period 1981-2019, the HAS members participated to 20 International Anatomical Congress with oral and poster presentations, as well as with invited lectures.
